The Dreher Blue Devils posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They put the hurt on Ridgeland-Hardeeville with a sharp 65-45 victory. Given Dreher's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Ridgeland-Hardeeville is ranked 221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Ridgeland-Hardeeville still got an impressive performance from Poncie Capers, who scored 15 points. Capers is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Kalen Riddles was another key contributor, scoring three points.
Dreher's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Ridgeland-Hardeeville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Dreher will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 7:30 p.m. Ridgeland-Hardeeville will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Barnwell at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th.
