Preview: St. Patrick Shamrocks vs. Lansing Christian Pilgrims

The St. Patrick Shamrocks will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lansing Christian Pilgrims at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Patrick has three straight victories, Lansing Christian has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Even though Perry scored an imposing 70 points on Thursday, St. Patrick still came out on top. St. Patrick narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Perry 73-70.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 85-43, which was the final score in Lansing Christian's tilt against Laingsburg on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Lansing Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 663rd, while Laingsburg is ranked 48th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ethan Damesworth, who scored 15 points along with two blocks. That was a full 34.9% of Lansing Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was David Hall, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.

St. Patrick's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Lansing Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Everything came up roses for St. Patrick against Lansing Christian when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 74-30 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Hall, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will St. Patrick still be able to contain Hall? There's only one way to find out.
