Southern has gone 9-1 against Eastern recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Tornadoes will take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Southern's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Eastern's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, Southern didn't have quite enough to beat Wellston and fell 7-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their meetings with the Golden Rockets: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Eastern suffered their biggest loss since May 5, 2025 on Tuesday. They lost 14-7 to Unioto. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this matchup were averaging 3.68 runs allowed.

Eastern saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenleigh Bapst, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another was Jaidyn McCleese, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Southern, the loss was their first on the road, dropping their record down to 16-3.

Southern got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Eastern by a conclusive 16-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tornadoes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
