Football Game Preview: Magnolia Panthers vs. Parkview Patriots + Official Tickets

Magnolia is 0-3 against Parkview since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Magnolia didn't have quite enough to beat Hot Springs and fell 57-55. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly two points.

Despite the loss, Magnolia had strong showings from Jamaijha Marshall, who rushed for 152 yards and one score while picking up 9.5 yards per carry, and Ike Ainsworth, who rushed for 79 yards and a pair of TDs. Marshall was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ainsworth, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Parkview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 51.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 42-14 victory over the Razorbacks. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Razorbacks are ranked 77th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Parkview now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Magnolia, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Magnolia was taken down by Parkview 42-7 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 21-0.
