Recap: Panther Creek Catamounts vs. Middle Creek Mustangs
In what's become a running theme this season, the Panther Creek Catamounts gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Middle Creek with a sharp 68-42 victory. The victory was nothing new for Panther Creek as they're now sitting on six straight.
Panther Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Hunter, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Hunter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zy'vaun Puckett, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Middle Creek lost, one person who can't be blamed is Yasir Hall. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Obataobie Okafor, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Panther Creek pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Middle Creek, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8.
Coincidentally, Panther Creek and Middle Creek will both be playing Cary the next time they take the court. Middle Creek will host Cary at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Panther Creek will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
