Basketball Recap: West Davidson Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

West Davidson took a 21-point loss the last time they faced off against East Davidson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The West Davidson Dragons skirted past the East Davidson Golden Eagles 33-30. The win was familiar territory for the Dragons, who have now won three matches in a row.

West Davidson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Meghan Leonard led the charge by going 5-for-10 en route to 10 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. Leonard has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Nelson, who posted eight points.

West Davidson's record is now 10-11. As for East Davidson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-16.

West Davidson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-40 defeat against Salisbury on the 17th. As for East Davidson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-46 loss against Lexington on the 17th.
