Baseball Recap: Hesperia Christian Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Hesperia Christian rose to the challenge on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Big Bear Bears 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Bears back in April, they had to take a 12-11 loss.

Nathaniel Renner was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Hesperia Christian: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

Hesperia Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Big Bear, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Coming up, Hesperia Christian will be playing at home against Pioneer at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Big Bear does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
