Basketball Recap: Brooks Comes Up Short

Brooks came up into this matchup off a tough 60-point loss back in November. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Bogan Bengals by a score of 35-33 on Wednesday. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Brooks still got an impressive performance from Antwonette Golatte, who posted 19 points. Golatte's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Bogan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aliyah Sandoka led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. Sandoka is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauran Atkins, who earned ten points.

Brooks' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bogan, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Brooks wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-11 victory against Carver on the 6th. As for Bogan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-38 defeat against South Shore International on the 6th.
