Baseball Recap: Alburnett's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Alburnett has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.06 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They fell just short of the Columbus Sailors by a score of 10-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 12-11 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2024.

Alburnett's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8. As for Columbus, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-16-1 record.

Alburnett wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 19-0 victory against Edgewood-Colesburg on the 23rd. As for Columbus, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-1 win against Hudson on the 23rd.
