Volleyball Game Preview: Archbishop Moeller Fighting Crusaders vs. West Clermont Wolves

The Archbishop Moeller Fighting Crusaders will head out to challenge the West Clermont Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Archbishop Moeller will be strutting in after a win while West Clermont will be coming in after a loss.

Archbishop Moeller is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Walnut Hills, who was ranked 15th at the time (Archbishop Moeller was ranked seventh). The Fighting Crusaders walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles on Thursday. The Fighting Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Archbishop Moeller can attribute much of their success to Tyler Wong, who had 24 digs and one assist, and Danny McAneny, who had eight digs. Rowan Todd also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, West Clermont came up short against La Salle on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-14, 25-14.

West Clermont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Archbishop Moeller, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Everything went Archbishop Moeller's way against West Clermont in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, as Archbishop Moeller made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fighting Crusaders since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
