Basketball Recap: Portal Takes a Loss

Portal lost against Bryan County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Portal Panthers took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bryan County Redskins.

Despite the defeat, Portal saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Josh Coleman dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave Coleman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kj Hunter, who posted seven points.

Portal's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Bryan County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Portal does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bryan County, they will face off against McIntosh County Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. McIntosh County Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.3 points per game this season.
