Baseball Game Preview: Plainfield Central Wildcats vs. Joliet West Tigers

For the second straight game, Plainfield Central will face off against Joliet West. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Plainfield Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Joliet West's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Plainfield Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Joliet West on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

The victory (which was Joliet West's fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-15. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Plainfield Central, their loss dropped their record down to 25-7.
