Basketball Recap: Zinan Taylor Key Part of a Team Effort in Falcon Win

Cincinnati typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Phalen Leadership Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 65-47 win over the Cincinnati Eagles.

Phalen Leadership Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zinan Taylor out in front who posted 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Drelan Vaden, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 12 points.

Phalen Leadership Academy pushed their record up to 9-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Cincinnati, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6.

Phalen Leadership Academy will square off against Seven Oaks Classical at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Phalen Leadership Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Seven Oaks Classical likes a good challenge. As for Cincinnati, they will face off against Immaculate Conception Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st.
