Colfax's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Spring Valley Cardinals by a score of 6-1. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in April, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.

Jimmy Hobein spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Grant Demoe was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Caleb Bailey was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Colfax's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Spring Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Colfax will take on rival Mondovi at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Spring Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Clear Lake at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
