Soccer Recap: Kirtland Takes a Loss

After soaring to eight goals the game before, Kirtland was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against the Chardon Hilltoppers, falling 5-1. Kirtland were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chardon apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2019.

Kirtland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3-2 record this season. As for Chardon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2-1.

Coming up, Kirtland will challenge Madison at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chardon, they will square off against Aurora at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chardon's defense better be ready for this one: Aurora have averaged an impressive 3.7 goals per game this season.
