Softball Game Preview: Lubbock Westerners vs. Caprock Longhorns

The Lubbock Westerners will take on the Caprock Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Lubbock barely beat Plainview the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Lubbock was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Plainview on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Westerners, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Caprock made easy work of Plainview on Friday and carried off a 12-2 win.

The victory made it two in a row for Lubbock and bumps their season record up to 10-7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Caprock, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6-1.

Everything went Lubbock's way against Caprock in their previous matchup back in February, as Lubbock made off with a 12-2 win. Will Lubbock repeat their success, or does Caprock has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
