Soccer Recap: Sandwich Comes Up Short

Sandwich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westmont Sentinels.

Haylee Lilliebridge and Bailey Brummel scored all three of Sandwich's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Sandwich's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Westmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6-1 record this season.

Sandwich didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Genoa-Kingston on the 19th. As for Westmont, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-3 loss against Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus on the 14th.
