Softball Recap: Clear Fork Comes Up Short

Clear Fork was the 4-3 winner over Ontario when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Colts fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clear Fork saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailly Thrush, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Thrush is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Clear Fork's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-5. As for Ontario, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Clear Fork and Ontario should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Colts will square off against Marion Harding at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (163 vs. 379). Meanwhile, Ontario (ranked 172nd) will meet Pleasant (ranked 449th) at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
