Volleyball Recap: Redfield Comes Up Short

Redfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Webster Bearcats. The Pheasants were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bearcats from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Redfield lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 17-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Redfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Katryn Evans had 39 digs. Evans is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Redfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Webster, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Redfield will be taking part in a tournament against Warner at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Webster, they will venture away from home to face off against Aberdeen Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
