Baseball Recap: Elmira Comes Up Short

Elmira was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 9-5 to the Ithaca Little Red. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Little Red this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-5 on Monday.

Elmira saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aedan Palmer, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Palmer has become a key player for the Express: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

Elmira's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Ithaca, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Ithaca will venture away from home to face off against Southside at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Elmira will be paying especially close attention to the Little Red's matchup: after the Little Red face off against the Green Hornets, they'll take on Elmira again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
