Basketball Recap: Webster Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Webster Tigers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 81-80 to the Bayfield Trollers. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bayfield had a senior duo take command as Quintin Bresette almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine assists and Maxwell Gordon dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. The matchup was Bresette's third in a row with at least ten points. Dashon Tourdot was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Webster's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bayfield, their record is now 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Webster Tigers face off against the Ellsworth Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bayfield, they will square off against Lac Courte Oreilles at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Bayfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
