Game recap: Pacifica leaps out of the gate in victory over Kennedy

Pacifica (Garden Grove, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 42-0 win over Kennedy (La Palma, Calif.).

The Mariners scored seven points in the first quarter. Pacifica scored on a touchdown run by Nick Seto and a touchdown.

After taking the lead on a Seto touchdown run in the first quarter, PHS led 7-0 at the half.

The Garden Grove school expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. The Mariners scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Nick Howard to Leo Gomez.

Michael Gehres was the top performer for Pacifica. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns.



The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Fighting Irish took, 35-10.

Kennedy (1-5) will play a non-conference game against Monterey next week, while Pacifica (3-2) will take on Tustin in a Empire game.
