Basketball Recap: University Comes Up Short

University entered their matchup against Timber Creek on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The University Cougars were outmatched by the Timber Creek Wolves and fell 63-32. The Cougars' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Madison Perez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Timber Creek, going 7 of 10 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Allen, who posted eight points along with five assists and four steals.

University's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5. As for Timber Creek, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

University will square off against Lake Brantley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timber Creek, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-52 victory against Martin County on the 10th.
