Softball Recap: Edon Bombers vs. Stryker Panthers

Edon had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Stryker Panthers on Monday. For Edon, this counts as revenge for the 14-2 defeat Stryker walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Makayla Anspaugh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Edon's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Amanda Schwartz, who went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

On Stryker's side, Laura Leupp made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

As for Stryker, they will be playing at home against Gorham Fayette at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gorham Fayette is coming into the matchup with six straight defeats on the road, meaning Stryker will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
