Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Springfield

Springfield waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 54-46 win over the Bogalusa Lumberjacks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Leading Springfield to victory were Chase Burches and Dequane Davis. Burches went 8-for-14 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Davis went 6-for-11 to rack up 16 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Davis has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 16 times he's played. Rowen Harris was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Springfield's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Bogalusa, their loss dropped their record down to 5-22.

Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-46 win against Doyle on the 7th. As for Bogalusa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-47 defeat against Albany on the 7th.
