Basketball Recap: Southern Wells' Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Southern Wells was riding high fresh off their 68-31 takedown of Heritage last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Southern Wells Raiders took a blow against the Bluffton Tigers on Saturday, falling 84-31. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-19.

When it comes to explaining why Southern Wells lost, don't look at Ashlie Needler. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

It was another big night for Isabella Stout, who went 10 of 15 on her way to 26 points and five rebounds for Bluffton. Stout's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Konley Ault was another key player, putting up 15 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Southern Wells' loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5. As for Bluffton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.

Southern Wells will venture away from home to challenge Wes-Del at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Wells is facing Wes-Del at the right time seeing as Wes-Del is stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for Bluffton, they will welcome DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
