Covington was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on the Gibson County Pioneers with a sharp 7-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Kinslee Hamm was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Hamm was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madi Hamm, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Caroline Cole was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one double.
