Covington and Riverton Parke are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Trojans will challenge the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Covington's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
Covington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Attica by a score of 16-13. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Creux Rieman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Covington: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Kaden Smith was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Cian Moore, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Covington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, while Riverton Parke put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Faith Christian. The Panthers blew past the Eagles 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Covington is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Riverton Parke, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-9.
Covington came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverton Parke in their previous matchup on May 10th, sneaking past 9-8. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
