With a playoff win on the line, Carrollton rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Okawville Rockets a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Hawks have won 26 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Hannah Uhles made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Carrollton let Megan Camden and Daci Walls run wild. Camden got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and four RBI, while Walls went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Camden has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanna Holmes, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Carrollton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.
Carrollton's win bumped their record up to 34-1. As for Okawville, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
As of now, neither Carrollton nor the Rockets have any future games scheduled.
