Recap: Glendale Vikings vs. Williamsburg Blue Pirates
The Glendale Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Williamsburg. Glendale was down 36-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joey Kitko, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Kitko is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Potutschnig, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Glendale's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Williamsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
Glendale will be playing in front of their home fans against West Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Branch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,452 points over their last 19 matchups. As for Williamsburg, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy at 7:15 p.m. on February 3rd. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Williamsburg surely won't give up without a fight.
