Softball Recap: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's sixth consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins an 18-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Saints also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Cape Henry Collegiate, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will head out to take on Brunswick Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cape Henry Collegiate, they will venture away from home to challenge Norfolk Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
