Softball Recap: North Gaston Wildcats vs. Huss Huskies
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Point, North Gaston was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Huss Huskies 16-0. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Parker Gordon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Skylar Smith was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Christina Ramsey was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
North Gaston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
With the victory, North Gaston broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8. As for Huss, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
