Ohio Valley Christian posted their closest win since October 24, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the New Hope Christian Academy Statesmen. Winning may never get old, but Ohio Valley Christian sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Ohio Valley Christian who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 13-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-4.

Ava Mollohan paced Ohio Valley Christian's offense, picking up 22 kills. Mollohan got some help from Calli Whitmore and her 44 assists. Rebekah Hickernell and Dixie Oliver kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with seven aces apiece.

Ohio Valley Christian's record is now 7-1. As for New Hope Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Ohio Valley Christian will venture away from home to face off against Ross County Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Hope Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
