Casa Grande had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Santa Rosa Panthers on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gauchos have posted against the Panthers since August 30, 2018.

Casa Grande was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 15-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Casa Grande will head out to face off against San Marin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Rosa, they will venture away from home to take on Roseland University Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
