Basketball Recap: Central Valley Hawks vs. Central Catholic Raiders
Central Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 65-38 loss at the hands of the Central Catholic Raiders. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 72-31 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Despite the loss, Central Valley still got an impressive performance from Jace Mclennon, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Emmanuel Carranza, who put up eight points and six rebounds.
Central Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Magana out in front who earned 15 points along with six boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of James Mcgee, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.
Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-6.
Central Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-46 defeat against East Union on the 19th. Central Catholic and University will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on December 26th.
