Sandhills/Thedford is a perfect 5-0 against Brady since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
On Thursday, Sandhills/Thedford made easy work of Maxwell and carried off a 52-28 victory. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
It was another big night for Maurice Robinson, who rushed for 272 yards and five TDs while picking up 13.0 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. Carter Anderson was another key player, rushing for 106 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.
Sandhills/Thedford didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Maxwell to a completion percentage of just 43.8%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Anderson and Mason Sutton, who each logged three passes deflected. Sandhills/Thedford hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.11 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Brady against Bayard on Friday as the team secured a 40-8 victory. The Eagles pushed the score to 34-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.
Sandhills/Thedford better keep an eye on Cinch Sanger. He was instrumental in Brady's win, rushing for 168 yards and three scores on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 107 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, Sanger racked up 127.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.
Brady didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Payton Miller and Canin Golter. Golter also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 13.
Brady's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Sandhills/Thedford, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground. Sandhills/Thedford has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 234 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Brady struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 198.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Sandhills/Thedford against Brady in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-0 victory. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
