Recap: Delaware County Christian Knights vs. Atlantic Christian Cougars
The Delaware County Christian Knights pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Atlantic Christian. Delaware County Christian lost against Atlantic Christian in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-47 score last time.
Despite the loss, Delaware County Christian had strong showings from Khamai Orange, who scored 26 points along with 9 rebounds, and Caleb Jameson, who scored 13 points. Orange scored a full 47.3% of Delaware County Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Bradford Berwick was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Noah Stokes, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Atlantic Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Charlie Costello, who scored 12 points.
Delaware County Christian now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Atlantic Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Delaware County Christian will head out on the road to face off against Dock Mennonite at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dock Mennonite is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Atlantic Christian, they will be playing at home against Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
