Recap: Austin Achieve Polar Bears vs. La Grange Leopards
The Austin Achieve Polar Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 14th straight loss. They were beaten by La Grange 76-3. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Austin Achieve in their matchups with La Grange: they've now lost five in a row.
La Grange found their leader in underclassman Kylie Trlicek, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten steals. Trlicek hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Macie Collier, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Austin Achieve's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-14. As for La Grange, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Austin Achieve will be playing at home against Smithville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Smithville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Austin Achieve in Texas (Smithville is ranked 702nd, while Austin Achieve is ranked 1467th). As for La Grange, they will head out on the road to face off against Giddings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
