Baseball Recap: Mt. Pulaski Takes a Loss

After flying high against Warrensburg-Latham on Friday, Mt. Pulaski came back down to earth. The Hilltoppers fell 3-0 to the Monticello Sages on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hilltoppers of the 8-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Mt. Pulaski's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Monticello, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Mt. Pulaski will take on Villa Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last five games the Blue Devils have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Monticello does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
