Baseball Game Preview: Del Norte Warriors vs. Kelseyville Knights

The Del Norte Warriors will take on the Kelseyville Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Del Norte's tournament run continued when they took on Eureka on Thursday. The Warriors lost 8-1 to the Loggers.

Del Norte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Cardenas, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Kelseyville was able to grind out a solid victory over Fort Bragg on Tuesday, taking the game 5-2. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won six in a row.

Kyle Watkins and Max Hommer did most of the damage at the plate: Watkins went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Hommer went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Watkins has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played. Reme Strong was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Kelseyville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Del Norte, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7-1.
