Volleyball Recap: Alyssa Desper Key Part of Team Effort in Knights Win

East Noble's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the NorthWood Panthers. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (100-93) East Noble actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-15, 7-25, 19-25, 15-10.

East Noble's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alyssa Desper led the charge by getting nine digs and four aces. The dominant performance also gave Desper a new career-high in assists (26). Another player making a difference was Kylie Walz, who had 16 digs and four assists.

The victory got East Noble back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, East Noble will host Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for NorthWood, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Penn on the 19th.
