Baseball Preview: Bradford Owls vs. DuBois Beavers

Bradford is 1-9 against DuBois since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bradford Owls will head out on the road to square off against the DuBois Beavers at 4:30 p.m.

Bradford is headed out hoping to continue their success from last week, when the picked up their first road victory of the season on Saturday. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 15-5 walloping at the hands of Port Allegany.

Adam Ward and Matthew Perry stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ward scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Perry scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Lama, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a double.

Even though they lost, Bradford didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with ten strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port Allegany only tossed three.

Meanwhile, DuBois came into Friday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past Clearfield 3-2.

Tycen Roy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Kaden Clark was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Bradford's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for DuBois, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Bradford might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from DuBois in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can Bradford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
