Football Game Preview: Battle Creek Braves vs. Ponca Indians

Battle Creek is 8-1 against Ponca since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Braves will host the Indians at 7:00 p.m. Battle Creek is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Battle Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Norfolk Catholic and fell 24-22. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Knights are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, Ponca fell victim to West Point-Beemer and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Cadets. The Indians have struggled against the Cadets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Ponca's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Battle Creek, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Battle Creek against Ponca in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 51-20 victory. In that game, the Braves amassed a halftime lead of 38-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
