Basketball Recap: Ragsdale Skates Past Western Guilford with Ease

Ragsdale won the last time they faced Western Guilford and things went their way on Friday too. The Ragsdale Tigers really took it to the Western Guilford Hornets for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-14 victory. With the Tigers ahead 33-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Ragsdale was led to victory by Ja'Mya Boddie and Brooke Parker. Boddie went 7-for-13 en route to 20 points and four steals, while Parker posted 19 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. That's the most points Boddie has posted since back in February of 2024. Marlei Williams was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards.

Ragsdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reese Miga, who had three points.

Ragsdale is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Western Guilford, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-18.

Coming up, Ragsdale will welcome Southeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Western Guilford, they will venture away from home to face off against Northern Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
