Baseball Recap: Carson Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Carson came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Narbonne Gauchos with a sharp 12-2 victory. With that win, the Colts brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Joziah Agredano made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Carson is undefeated when Agredano posts two or more stolen bases, but 11-13 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Juno Carillo, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kris Sinclair, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Carson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Carson's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-13. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Narbonne, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.
