Mingus turns things around after tough road loss

Recap: Mingus Marauders vs. Bradshaw Mountain Bears

There's no place like home for the Mingus Marauders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 60-41 win over Bradshaw Mountain on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Mingus, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Mingus found their leader in underclassman Savannah Tobias, who almost dropped a triple-double on 23 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. Tobias is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alice Kinsey, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Bradshaw Mountain's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kalli Smith, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks. Giselle Serrano was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Mingus' victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Bradshaw Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Mingus will be playing in front of their home fans against Lee Williams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lee Williams is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Bradshaw Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prescott will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
