Basketball Recap: Montgomery County Comes Up Short

Montgomery County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 75-19 loss at the hands of the Telfair County Trojans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-31 back in January.

Leading Telfair County to victory were Ty'Kristiany Jones and Ty'Teionna Jones. Ty'Kristiany dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten steals, while Ty'Teionna almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Ty'Kristiany has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Trinity Deeds, who posted nine points and five boards.

Montgomery County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Telfair County, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Montgomery County will head out on the road to face off against Treutlen at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Telfair County, they will venture away from home to take on Dooly County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Telfair County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
