Cooper Palmer posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Evadale is undefeated when Palmer allows one or fewer hits, but 9-10 otherwise.

Palmer's strong effort led Evadale over West Hardin and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels are 8-2 against the Oilers going back to April of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
