New Philadelphia dropped their record down to 13-7 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell  6-2 to the Meadowbrook Colts. Having soared to a lofty ten  runs in the game before, the Quakers couldn't push the score so high this time.
 Olivia Jackson put in work while hitting and pitching. She  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 Jackson wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Sara Cardani, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run.
As for Meadowbrook, their win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 15-4. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.
Like New Philadelphia, Meadowbrook also got a great game from a two-way player:  Addy Sichina. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   seven  hits (and only one walk). Sichina was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Sommer Ginn was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI.
 Looking ahead, New Philadelphia will venture away from home to  challenge West Holmes  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Quakers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.7  runs per game this season. As for Meadowbrook, they will be playing at home against Crooksville  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Colts 3.1, the Ceramics 4) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
