Basketball Game Preview: East Lincoln Mustangs vs. Huss Huskies

The East Lincoln Mustangs will face off against the Huss Huskies at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Huss likes a good challenge.

East Lincoln is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Stuart W. Cramer: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that East Lincoln blew Stuart W. Cramer out of the water with a 69-36 final score. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 33 points or more this season.

East Lincoln found their leader in sophomore Jaxon Dollar, who went 5 of 8 en route to 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Dollar is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Atkins, who posted ten points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Huss was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Forestview 83-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

East Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Huss, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Everything went East Lincoln's way against Huss in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, as East Lincoln made off with an 81-58 victory. Will East Lincoln repeat their success, or does Huss have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
